It works in three steps:

After the treatment, you will likely notice some redness in the treated area, similar to a mild sunburn. Additional common treatment responses may include dryness, tightness, and peeling. This is normal—a sign that your body is responding as intended—and should subside within 24 to 72 hours. Makeup and sunscreen can be applied 24 hours after the treatment.
Most people will notice rejuvenated skin after their first SkinPen® treatment; however, optimal long-term results are best seen after three or more treatments. Ongoing skin improvements will continue for three to six months following the last treatment.
